One of the best ways of traveling is using the Greyhound buses.
I have traveled the whole East Coast using Greyhound buses, and they have some great travel packages that you can link with your YHA and Backpacker accommodation.

First decide where you want to go...say Perth to Broome and back. Then go online to seek the cheapest and best way of getting there. When the bus fare was $130 from Cloncurry to Brisbane, I found a cheap flight for almost the same...so I took that, but mostly the bus is the cheapest travel especially if you have a student or pensioner discount.

Mostly I use the buses as I can take photographs from the bus if I get a window seat, which I insist on having, and the stops means I see sights along the way, and also get to chat to other travelers.

Its better than just the aeroplane, where you get from A to B in a short time with no inbetween action.I enjoy seeing where I am traveling, so if time is not an issue, I travel by bus.

They have many special trips too...I am off to book one after viewing the site.

Have a look for where you can go and head off there
Frpm Perth, can I suggest a trip to Albany along the coast, and back through Manjimup and inland through the Tall Trees of Pemberton. Then do another trip north to either Monkey Mia and Broome, or inland to the Kimberlies.
